Nikon D90 autofocus woes?

I have a problem. I got rid of 2 perfectly good Nikon lenses because I thought the AF was effing up and it turns out its the camera body. This only happens at the long end of the focal lengths. If all the lenses I have have built-in motors then why would my camera bodies faulty motor even be used?

Wow, too bad.

I guess the question is why you did not take the lenses and camera into a camera repair shop and have then troubleshoot them for you.

If your AF lenses were actually AF-S lenses, then they have motors in them. If AF lenses, no, no auto-focus motor is in the lens.

You may want to spend some time doing some research on your lenses and camera before to do anything else. You have already made two mistakes, you don't need to compound them.

Only an expert can tell you what the real problem may be. Not even experienced professional photographers can help you since most of us have never experienced such problems.
