I recently bought Nikon D5100. I use to do some movies occasionally. But is it possible to shoot movie continously? I mean I shoot movie say i started recording… From 0… To 10 min… Then i pressed again movie button it stops recording stops. Then if i again press record button it begins to shoot in new file. But i wanted to continue in same file rather than new file. From 10… To 15 lets say. If its not possible please suggest some software to join both file to one.

See the manual if there's a minimum recording time and check your memory status for references.

The issue could be one of two things:

Card speed: the card usually needs to be class 6 or better for DSLR video

Formatting: the FAT32 formatting creates a maximum file size of 4GB, when the file reaches this stage the file is closed and a new file must be started. On Nikons like the D5100 i thought this limit was 20mins at 1080, but I may be wrong.

The only DSLR that can record continuous video files at the moment is the EOS 1Dx.

You can edit your files in applications such as Premeire Elements, which runs on Mac or PC and should support the 24fps rate of the Nikon D5100.
