Nikon D5000 and SB600?

I want to use the sb600 off the camera so does that mean i'll need these

You can use a wireless trigger, however, you need to use the flash in manual mode with this setup. The trigger in your link will probably be a frustrating thing to use due to the bad construction and design. There are web sites that show how to modify these things to work a bit more reliably. Search around the web. If this is just for play, it might be fun to get this. If you intend to do more serious work, get a better trigger. There are better radio triggers for around $100.
Another option is to use a cable extension for your flash which maintains the iTTL features of the flash. Something like http://www.bhphotovideo.com/...d_for.html for $17
or you can get the real Nikon flash extender cords (SB-28 or SB-29) for $55 or $80.

If you need more length, someone has suggested splicing in a longer cord using Ethernet RJ-45 connectors on the extender cables.
