Since blur is caused by using shutter speeds that are too slow the hand hold the camera you need to be sure that you have your shutter speed set as hight as it will go. It is the movement of the camera during the exposure that causes blur.

Either use the cameras flash or with the camera ISO set high (1600) pick a shutter speed of at least 1/250th second. Remember to set the cameras white balance to match either the flash or the lighting in the church.

There really is no way to learn how to properly use the camera by tomorrow, unless you spend the entire night doing trial and error stuff.

I say put it on automatic and hope for the best.

You should learn how to properly change ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speed to conform to what you are shooting. Pick up a book, take a class/workshop and you should be having more fun.
