Nikon D3100+kit lens?

I'm planning to buy a new camera. I had a compact Fufifilm but i don't like it… I have many 35mm SLR cameras like Cannon 3000N, Nikon F (late '60) and Zenit 11.So i want a digital SLR.

I have 2 options for the kit lens: AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm VR or should I choose AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200mm VR.

I just want to know the equivalent zoom, field of view for both of them and if someone knows the 35mm equivalent. And wich one is better, and should I choose.

Also, my last question: The lens from my Cannon EOS 3000N is compatible with Cannon D-SLR's or vice-versa?

The two lenses you've listed are exactly the same. The 55-200 is not wide enough at the wide end to be a good walk around lens. For now, get an 18-55 VR.

There are kits for sale with both lenses i'd go for that there cheaper than bought separately. 18-55 and (28-85mm in35mm) and 55-200. (85-450mm) The camera i'd go for is the Nikon 3100D.

You have quoted 2 identical lenses:-)

Yes - the lenses from your EOS3000N will work on any Canon DSLR
