Nikon d3000 continuous picture taking?

Ok so I know how to make the 10 second timer go on my d3000 but is there any way I can make it continuously take a picture every 10 seconds without me having to walk back over to the camera and press the button to start the timer again? Please HALP if you know

What you're looking for is an intervalometer. I know that my D300 has that feature, but the entry level Nikon DSLR's don't.
You'll have to add an external one. Here's one I found on Amazon.

Another alternative is a wireless remote.

Don't know about the D3000 specifically, but the D2X and D7000 both have the interval timer built into the Self-timer menu. You can set the delay before the first shot, the number of shots you want to take and the interval between shots. So you'd set the camera on your tripod, set the starting delay to 10 seconds and the number of shots you want to take (say, 999). The interval may be problematic, though. My D7000 doesn't let me set a timer interval greater than 5 seconds while the D2X lets me set a specific time.
