My nikon d60's pop up flash is not working. I can take pics without using the flash in every mode( P S A M) and AUTO mode also. But when i use the flash it is not firing. The in built popup flash gets open but no flash is firing and also i can't take pics because the shutter release button can't press down. But without flash i can take pics and camera works well as usual. What is the problem? And also there's some heat generating inside the camera in the left side when i continue trying to use the flash but no chance no flash is firing at all. Any hope that whether i can use my camera further?
i'm very much worried.

Take it to a camera store and get it serviced.

You will need to send it in to nikon to get the flash bulb replaced. That seems to be the real problem. There might be some other things wrong with it because of the heat on the left side.

Still, all you can really do is send it in to nikon for servicing.

The flash bulb's gone. The condensator is probably generating the heat.

Call the store you bought your camera from and ask where the authorized service center is then bring your camera there for a bulb replacement.
