My Nikon D3000 won't take photos on auto or macro anymore?

When i press the shutter halfway it focuses and goes green like normal, then when pressed fully down it just won't take the photo.

Failing to find focus?

Outside metered exposure range.

Switch cam and lens to M (manual) or P and try again. Scene modes are rubbish and lock up the camera in anything other than ideal conditions.
