Looking for a D-SLR camera?

I'm looking for a D-SLR camera. I was particularly looking at the nikon D5100 is their another camera that is better than it but in the same price range? If so please tell me.

In consumer dslr cameras there really is no "better"… There's different but not really much better.
All of them are so well made, so well engineered that they will last a long time.

Also they're made for serious photography so if you're thinking that "better" means gimmicks, forget that - no gimmicks. Just straight out excellent technical quality. The photo quality is up to you.

I only recommend what I own and therefore know. Any of the Canon Rebel "t" line. All are excellent cameras.

The D5100 is pretty much the best overall (spec wise) entry level DSLR to hit the market. The Canon rival would be the T3i
