Kodak C183 won't format memory card?
I used my 4GB Kodak memory card with a Nikon D3000 for the longest time but I sold that a while ago and have been using a Kodak C183 with a completely different cheap memory card. Now that that's full I wanted to format my 4GB Kodak card as soon as possible for use with this crappy Kodak C183, I tried the "format memory card" option on the cameras menue a billion times but this is doing nothing, I need an expert and soon, thanks!
(I tried looking at a PDF version of this cameras manual, tried what it suggested but this camera still refuses to format this card!)
Added (1). Thanks, but unfortunately I've already tried that.
Make sure that the lock switch on the side of the card is pushed down. If the card is locked, this could be preventing you from formatting your SD card.
I checked and your camera is compatible with a 4G card. Is the card locked? Check slider on the side. There's a chance that the card is corrupt.
It could be that the card is bad.
Of the four SD cards I have purchased, one arrived DOA and a second only worked for three weeks.
Try a different card and see if you have any success
Make sure your Kodak uses SDHC cards. SDHC is different from SD only. Most SD only cameras are limited to 2GB.
