Is my photography good? - 1

I'm considering a career in photography. However, before I pursue it, I want to make sure I have enough raw natural talent. I have a Nikon D40, but all these pictures were taken on auto (because at the time I didn't know how to use manual settings). Since these pictures, I have learned to use manual settings, but what do you think? Be very harsh and critical. I can take it.

Yes, there appears to be some talent there. You're still new to it, so don't be worrying about a career just yet. Focus on the joy of making art and improving your craft. In other words keep taking lots of photos and keep having fun.

A great way to improve is by looking at other peoples' photography. Go to photoblogs.org and find about 30 photoblogs that you really like. A good place to look is in their "Hall of Fame" section. Subscribe to their RSS feeds so you know when something new is added. Study these photos… Do not just look at them with blind admiration.

You definitley have something there. Some people may say it is amazing, but that means they haven't seen PHOTOGRAPHY. I'm intrigued by your beach photos they are very nice. I liked your little girl portrait as well keep it up!
