Is a nikon d5000 good for skateboard photography?

My parents bought me a nikon d5000 recently and i wanted to start taking skate pics but i don't know if it's a good camera to use for it…

The Nikon D. 5000 is a great camera for taking fast moving pictures. I think it'll be well-suited for taking pictures off the skateboard. However I would suggest being careful with that. If you drop away your writing can destroy the camera.
