My dad bought me this camera and I'm getting it on May. I wanna know if I chose the right camera and what are the good and bad features of this?

It's a great camera.

Finally, here some 3, 777, 000 D5100 images for you to examine. Use the drop-down Now Showing menu for common types of pictures, or use the Search box to find the kinds of photos you really want to take. As you'll see, with experience and a creative eye, the D5100 is very capable.

Main Features:
16.2 MP
CMOS Sensor
3'' Monitor
100-6400 ISO range
Full 1080p HD movies
4fps continuous shooting
Many filters for pictures and videos.

It's a pretty good camera, but I'm not sure what you want to do with it so I can't say if you chose the right one.

If you want to know how to use it before you get it, go to the Nikon site and download the operators manual for it.

While you're waiting for your new camera you can watch this:

You can also begin learning about the Exposure Triangle which consists of Aperture, ISO and Shutter Speed. This site is a good place to start:

You can also begin learning about the Rules of Composition here:

Once you finally have the camera in your hands, put it down and read and study the Owner's Manual that comes with it. You can refer to the Nikon video while reading.
