I feel bad, my new Nikon d90 has a dead pixel (2 dots on the LCD), what to do?
I was not able to recognize the manufacturer's defect, definitely I'm not eligible for the 7days replacement policy. I have 1 year warranty, can this issue still be fix?
With Nikon's reputation I would hope that they would either repair or replace the camera. Read the warranty documentation to make sure missing pixels are not excluded. LCD TVs often have a disclaimer in this respect. Contact your local Nikon Repair Centre and ask.
If it is just in the LCD display it may not be worth bothering with. If it is on the sensor it might be. They are not lkely to install a new sensor. They will pixel map it which hides the hot pixel.
I had a similar issue on my D70. When I got it, there was a hot pixel on the display, but did not affect the photo as it was on the LCD, not the sensor.
When I contacted Nikon, they said it would not be covered under warranty unless it was a whole row of dead pixels. Whether this is the current policy or not, I have no idea.
Fortunately, I discovered this problem immediately, so I was able to return it to the store and got a replacement.
Same here mate. I have D90. Have been using for a year and found it out 6 months ago. You can change it with your warranty or just ignore it like i do. It won't affect your image afterall. They still work great on taking pictures… No worries.consult nikon's stuff if you want it to be changed/
Dead pixels aren't usually covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Best way to deal with it is to ignore it.
Just leave it, it's two dead pixels, and that's normal.
