I'm getting grainy pictures, Nikon d5000?
I'm getting grainy pictures right now with my Nikon D5000. I mess around with the ISO trying to learn more about it on Saturday and now I can't fix it back to non grainy… What are the ideal settings for portraiture style pictures, so that i can fix it back.
Mentioning that you were working the the ISO settings may be your answer. Try switching the ISO back to either 100 or 200… That should help tremendously.

You likely changed from manual to auto mode. The thing is that even in auto mode, that camera allows you to change the ISO within the auto mode to either "auto" or a pre-determined high ISO. You are probably shooting with a 'locked-in' very high ISO even though it's in auto mode.
