Recently purchased a diana f+ nikon adapter and a 20mm Diana fish-eye lens, when i place them into my camera it says they there's no lens attached, am i being completely stupid or have i just wasted my money?

I'm kinda new to all this so please be nice: P

Of course the camera says "no lens attached"… The Diana lens is a cheap plastic lens with no electronics for it to communicate with the camera.

You will need to set the camera to fully manual and shoot that way.

Whether you wasted your money or not is a question only you can answer. IMNSHO, anything Lomo/Holga/ Diana is a waste of money. It costs them roughly $1.25 to make their camera and they sell them for $60 to $100 (and it only costs them roughly 40¢ to make a fisheye lens)
