How to shoot pictures at hockey?

Jake
I have a Nikon D40 and a 55-200, I want to shoot some hockey games just for fun, how would I do that given this equipment? What settings would I use? Is this possible?

It's hard to say…
But for most sports photography, you should be shooting at f/2.8 or better, like the 70-200mm f/2.8 for example. An f/3.5-5.6 isn't gonna cut it.
Also, even with an f/2.8, you should be using an ISO of at least 3200, or which ever ISO lets you shoot at 1/500 sec. And up.
