How to make simple photos look like HD?

I have some pics taken by Nikon D40X camera… I'm not satisfied with pics. I want them to appear like something called HD. Can Somebody help me?

When you say "HD" it refers to the resolution of the picture. 1280x720 is considered as HD and 1920x1080 is called as Full HD. You can use Photoshop or any editing software to edit the light, color, saturation or etc. You can shoot an HD picture using HD cameras…

HD is a video format - short for High Definition.

Do you mean HDR? - short for High Dynamic Range

If so, HDR images are made from several exposure bracketed images - usually 3 or more exposures, then they are combined in image editing or HDR software to create an HDR image. Then the software is used for a process called tone-mapping, which creates an image which can be viewed.

HD is more to do with video High Definition
HDR is High dynamic range,

this camera does not appear to have video option, but does have raw feature,

for hdr image, you can check tutorials on how to capture three different exposures of same subject, then use HDR software or plugins to create effect,
