How to make my photos less white?

I have a nikon D7000

Heres what the pics look like…

Settings were.

F3.2
Iso 1000

What can I do?

The photo looks quite good! A nice capture

To make sure the photos don't come over exposed (white), try the following:

# set EV to 0, make sure it doesn't display + or - value

# set ISO to minimum, in D7000 it should be 250. ISO 1000 is way too much for day time pic.

# shoot at A or S mode and let the camera set the variables for you to give perfect exposure.

# keep your white balance to Auto.

It's not badly exposed actually.

I've checked that shot in Adobe Photoshop and if anything the histogram appears to be erring on the side of slight under-exposure… Most of the detail in the histogram is toward the left "dark" side (you should definitely move away from the dark side. All those light sabres etc lol) see here:

If you are seeing the image as too bright on your screen, then I suggest you get your monitor calibrated before you think about carrying out any editing or camera adjustments. It isn't showing your image as others see it.
