How do photo studio's transfer pictures from their cameras to their computers wirelessly?
Do you know of the program they might use or any tech that i might be able to buy to make it wireless i own a nikon d3000

It has to be built into the camera - does your camera have it? Based on online pricing - not.

although wireless USB replacements exist - for several hundred dollars - and leave a dangling appendage on the camera.

The simplest way is using an Eyefi card. You just plug it in where the memory card goes, and you can transmit to any computer using Wi-Fi.
