How to clean the dust over my Nikkor 18-55 lens?

I have a Nikkor 18-55 lens (kit lens they issue with Nikon D3100) and it has little pieces of dust over the outside part of it. I just bought a filter so, before I install it, I want to remove the dust in order to not trapt it inside. What do you recommend?

A lint free cloth.

Use a Giottos Rocket to blow the dust off.
If that doesn't get it all off, use a fine brush such as a Lens Pen to get the rest of the dust off (or skip the Rocket and just use the lens pen).

I use lens pens and cleaning brushes and an air rocket. Works really well for my Fudji Film
