Good macro lenses for d5000?

I'm planning on buying a nikon d5000 bit don't understand the numbers (18-55mm ect). Can someone please advise me to buy a good macro lens?

I use the old Nikon 60mm macro. It's only $400, too.

They now have an AF-S version for a little more money and an AF-S 40mm macro for a very reasonable price. The AF-S lenses will auto-focus with your D5000.

The tamron 90mm f/2.8 is a good lens…

but really it depends what you are going to shoot and what you want to achieve…

even macro lenses can't give you everything…

and there are cheaper options… If you have the skills and willingness to experiment…

use a reversing ring or a bellows…
