Gift ideas for the photographer in the family? (continuation)?

I just asked this question but I'm looking for a present for my brother who is into photography
He has a nikon d3000 and a couple of different lenses I'm pretty sure he has a zoom lens and a 35mm he does not have a flash but i don't know if flashes are worth it? Are they?

Flashes are worth it if you like flash. If you don't, then they are not worth it.

You know your brother better than we do, so ask him. Otherwise, take the advice you were given before and get him a gift certificate to a nice photo store.

trying to guess may just cause you to waste money (you will probably end up getting something he already has or that would not have been his first choice)
