It does not. If you want date & time printed on the photo, you need to use a program which will print the date and time from the EXIF header. Xnview has this functionality.

If you're talking on the photo itself, that looks like a rank amateur took the shot. I've seen those and they, for lack of a better word, are really hokey - are you sure you really want to do that?

Besides the date is there anyway in the exif data, always recorded automatically. You can always look it up.

Yes, you really don't want the date on the photo.It'll be in the properties, but if you put it on the picture it takes away from the photo, itself. And no, the D40 doesn't do that.

Yes it can, as long as the camera is connected to a PictBridge enabled printer.
