Does any of the Nikon DSLR have sweep shots panoramic function?
I'm still deciding whether to get the Nikon D3100, D500, or the Canon EOS Rebel T2i. Give me a hand on deciding.
Also, are any of these have the sweep shot? I like panoramic shots. Or is it the matter of the lense? How?
Added (1). I meant to say Nikon D3100, D5000, or the Canon EOS Rebel T2i.
DSLR with sweep shot? Get a point-and-shoot. I believe Sony is the best with this feature.
Yes, with dSLRs, you get panoramic shots using a wide lens. You can also do that by joining multiple shots or by cropping out the top and bottom parts of a picture.
No. Dslr cameras are no gimmicks, they're designed for serious photography. Panorama is a gimmick that you can find on some cheap cameras but not on serious cameras. If you want that gimmick use software or buy a cheap camera.
Only Sony, and only some models of Sony (A33 and A55 for sure, possibly some of the 3xx/5xx series) have sweep panorama. That I'm aware of, anyway.
Jim… Live view is a gimmick, SLR video is gimmick, and autofocus is a gimmick, and built-in light meters are a gimmick too. Cameras are not sacred objects to be worshiped, they are tools. Some people want a different tool than you do… Get used to that. You don't have to use any scene modes, I don't use scene modes, but most of the posters here will never take the camera off green box auto or a scene mode. Nothing you can do will change that.
God forbid Canon or Nikon should add something like that to their cameras… They will, eventually, but they'll make it hard to use. Just like Live View.
