Capturing ultra violet light?

Lil Miz Sunshine

I want to take pictures of flowers in ultra violet light, its for my A level project, I have recently done some research into how insects see flowers and I found that they see them in ultra violet light. The flowers look totally different to how we see them, they are different in colour and have hidden patterns. I really want to know how to capture these images. Would my camera have a setting for this? I have a Nikon D60. Any help or information would be greatly appreciated.

In general you will need to buy a special filter(Wratten 18A
or Woods Glass) which filters out visible light and only passes UV.

You can then take either available light or use a UV blacklight(or a flash) to illuminate your subjects.

Note: Do not use the filters commonly advertised as "UV Filters" these are designed to BLOCK UV not pass it.

Some UV pass filters also pass infrared, so you should probably do some tests as described in the sources to be sure you are seeing only Ultraviolet features.
