Canon XT vs Nikon D3000?

Canon XT vs. Nikon D3000?

Being a Canon guy I'll of course recommend the XT. I have two Canon dslr cameras, the Rebel XS and the t1i and they're both excellent.

I hate when people always recommend the brand that they've always used.
to your quesiton. If you concider the D3000 that is selling for $550, i highly recommend you invest $30 more and get the D3100 (i just bought my D3100 for $580 on amazon)
it's the next step up and you end up getting much more for your money.
i don't know much about Canon models but read as many reviews on both models as you possibly can, go to a store and try them both out, see which one feels best to you and which is easiest for you to use.

I'm assuming this is yet another "which is better?" question. After all, why look at the 4 dozen identical questions that have been answered here, right.
XT is really ancient, the D3000 is two generations newer. Choice is yours, I know what I'd pick.

If your interests are still photos only, the Canon would be my choice. Having the HD video is a nice option & is available on the D3000. The Nikon D3100 or Canon 2Ti, it seems should be what you're comparing, assuming the decision is for the purchase of a new camera.
