Canon t3 vs nikon d3000?

Being a Canon user I only recommend what I own and know. I have two cameras in the Rebel line and they're both excellent. The t3 is my recommendation hands down.

Actually the T3 is closer to the Nikon D3100 camera

Canon t3 for sure. I don't even think the d3000 has video capabilities

Get the Nikon d3100. Nikon has superior low light capabilities, the d3100 has great video capabilities, and you can use excellent Nikkor lenses.

Also, the "low end" Nikon lenses are much better than the "low end" Canon lenses.
