Can you use Takara TV-1935 Tripod for Nikon D5100 Camera?
Camera Tripod
It has a standard thread, and it is big enough to probably not fall over with a DSLR on it.
How good is it likely to be? Not very.
Technically yes you can use your D5100 on the Takara TV-1935, but you need to be aware of a few things:
1. It's a video tripod so using it for stills will be awkward since you don't have the necessary adjustments on the head.
2. It's a small, light-weight tripod good for lenses no longer than about 150-200mm. This is after you apply the 1.5x crop factor for your camera. Anything longer and the tripod may not be able to keep the camera/lens combination steady during the exposure. Your results may vary.
3. It's designed for light use on flat and level ground, so using it outdoors will be challenging.
Sure. I use an old video tripod that I got decades ago. It isn't fancy, but it holds my camera steady, unless I'm in a wind. Good thing I don't live in Wyoming or I wouldn't never get to use it.
