Can you predict when Nikon D3100 Digital SLR Camera is going to be on the biggest sale?

I'm really liking this cam but the main hurdle that stops me from buying it is its price, i'm keeping close look on different websites for awhile, but it doest seem to go down with price, Can you predict when will it be sold at cheapest price and where?

I too watch Nikon prices, the plan is to get the D700 replacement. What trend I have seen is that a full year after the camera has been out the camera will normally have its biggest reduction in price on the after thanksgiving holiday sale. It will also be its cheapest once the camera has been discontinued.

It used to be $700, $600 is actually a really good price for the camera

as for sales, they rarely happen, especially online. The best you can try to do is find a bundle which saves you money at a major retailer.

There really isn't

All you can do is hope for rebates.

Here is why you really can't expect discounts on popular cameras

* The weakening of the US Dollar
* The recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan
* The fact that the D3100 is the current low cost entry level Nikon dSLR. Until an upgrade is produced (in about 12 to 18 months) the prices should be stable

Look for a factory refurbished D3100

I predict the biggest sale will be 32 days after you realize it won't be on sale and go out and buy it.

With the $50 rebate, the average price is $650. How much lower do you want it? There's always used or refurbished.
