Yes, but you'll have to align its aperture setting to that of the cameras, unlike newer flash units.

Yes but I think you can't use the i-TTL function so probably, you can use it by setting the flash in manual mode. I also suggest you buy a wireless trigger so you can trigger the sb-24 wirelessly for strobing.

Yes, but as the previous people pointed out, you won't get the benefits of Nikon's through-the-lens metering, so you will have to work in manual mode. You might find because the old speedlight can't "talk" to your camera, that you get better results from the tiny built-in pop-up flash.

So don't stop saving up for an SB-600.
