Calling all my fellow Nikon D90 users

I'm a bit confused with the HD settings.
The store told me the D90 can only film in 720 HD not 1080. When you go to movie settings- quality- 1280x720 (16:9)
But when you go to setup menu- hdmi- you will see:
auto
480p progressive
576 progressive
720p progressive
1080i interlaced
Can someone explain to me what these are compared to the first thing i mentioned? It says 1080 i right in that part of the menu… Right now its on auto.
ps. I want to film a music video, which settings you recommend for those who shot good quality video.
Added (1). Um… I obviously do not have the manual on me smart one, or else I would have consult it.

Without owning the camera or cracking open the manual (which you seem not to have done) I can tell you that the HDMI settings are for when you hook it up to a hdmi tv.

Here is a online PDF of the Manual http://www.nikonusa.com/...oprint.pdf
But the D90 ONLY records 720 and at 24fps.
Yes the 1080i interlaced is if you connect the camera to a tv that is 1080i you would be able to VIEW the camera's content.
