Buying the Nikon D3100?

I think i'm going to buy the Nikon D3100, i love the camera and all the features it offers. I'm a little worried about the 14mp's but i'm not going to be doing any blowing up with this camera so would it even matter? Or will it matter anyway and should i leave behind all the features of this camera and get a different one because it has more megapixels?

Higher MP does not = better image quality. THe 3100 is a fantastic camera, but since it doesn't sound like you plan on learning about photography, you're better off with a P&S. The 3100 has a sensor that is 15X bigger than the ones used in P&S cameras.
