Best lens for shooting video nikon d5100?

I'm thinking of buying the body only and then purchasing an aftermarket lens that would be best for high def video recording.
what would be the best lens for this, or should i just go for the twin lens kit?

How large of a lens do you want? Will you be close to the scene? Or far away?

do you want to capture whole buildings from a short distance away? Landscape shots?

you need to answer these questions before we can choose one of the 80+ lenses that Nikon has to offer, on top of the 200+ third party lenses to choose from

but first and foremost, what is your budget?
