How to use the wireless flash with nikon?

I'm trying to get an sb900 to communicate with a d7000. Ahh!

Added (1). Hi fhotoace! Yep you got it. I read the manuals and I suppose I understand how it works but can't get everything to work altogether. On one of the earlier models of body, the flash is activated by the lamp from the flash on the main body but this does not seem to be the case on the d7000. Ah well… Its all part of the fun!

I'm sure you read the D7000 user manual as well as the SB900 manual.

The pop up flash on the D7000 can control off camera flash units in a wireless
configuration

both the Camera menus and flash menus have to be set accordingly

the SB 900 has to be set as an AWL remote and the Camera flash has to be set as Commander

they both have to be set for the same channel and group
