A recommended walk around lens?

I recommend the 50mm f/1.4 or f/1.8. There's a reason it's called "walk" around.

Both good choices… The difference between 85 and 105 is not very significant in the real world. The difference between 16 and 18 actually is enough to notice. You would have to decide if you need the slight longer range, or the appreciably wider end, the most.

I'd take the 16-85 myself.
