Canon auto focus sure shot 38mm 1:2.8?
I just found this camera while cleaning out my grandmother's basement. I've always been a Nikon girl & can't seem to figure out how to do the simplest things on this camera, such as getting the lens to open. Any ideas on where I could find a downloadable manual? I've looked around Google, but only found them for sale.
You may need to buy a new battery for the camera, but you should find a manual for your camera or one close too it here http://www.butkus.org/chinon/canon_point_and_shoot/canon_pointandshoot.htm
It needs fresh batteries to start
Is this the camera of which you speak?

As you can see, before USA Canon came to the USA, Bell and Howell had the import license for Canon cameras and they were sold mostly in JC Penney stores
It should be a pretty simple camera, but if you are unfamiliar with film cameras, even "simple" things may be puzzling. Go to a camera store to buy a new battery, and someone will probably show you a few things about how to load and rewind the film.
