Can the Nikon 1 J1 shoot macro, or at least close-up?
I'm looking at buying a Nikon 1 J1, but I can't tell if it will shoot macro.
I'd pass on this camera. It's little more than an over priced point & shoot that you can change lens with. You'll be MUCH better off with a Nikon D3100 & a macro lens.
I see a short life for the J1.
Whether or not a interchangeable lens camera as the Nikon 1 can shoot macro depends on the lens that one uses.
As of now there are no macro lenses available for it. There may be some in the future, but as always lenses are a pricey thing. I'd advise against the Nikon 1 (or Sony NEX) for that reason, as both are "intermediate" systems and one wouldn't want to find oneself heavily invested into their lenses and then develop a need for a full size DSLR, on which one can't reuse these lenses.
