Can I use the memory card of my camera as computer back-up?
I was wondering if I can store files like docx, exe. On my camera's memory card? I have a PNY Professional 16gb class 10 memory card for NIkon.
Are they made for storing photo files only?
Added (1). I mean, Can I use a camera memory card as a Flash drive?
Yes, you can. But why would you want to do this? It seems a waste of a memory card. If you want to back up, look for a free 'cloud' or pay for one.
Yes but memory cards and flash drives are relatively cheap. I would advise you get one specifically for your computer backup needs. The general rule in using memory cards is to use it for one device only.
Yes you can. Memory cards are not made specifically for photo storage, and I sometimes store a PDF file of my camera manual on a card or two, and also usually a txt file of my email address should the card get lost.
Of course that is no guarantee the card will be returned, and storing files on the card means you have less room for photos, but before some naysayer says you can't, it is perfectly fine to do so.
