Can i double the filters that i use on my camera?
I just bought a circular polarized filter, a neutral density filter, and a UV filter for my nikon can i put all the filters on at once? Also if i can will it break or do anything to my camera?
I believe that depending on the brand, there may be a thread on the filter. You can test it out, nothing should break (don't force it, though). Also, using these all at once doesn't make ton of sense. The and filter and polarizer will both darken the photo to a point where it really doesn't make sense to use both (about 12 stops darker). Also, some filters reduce image quality, so the more in the case would not be the better. I would recommend just using 1 at a time to begin with.
Yes, you CAN, but unless you Really need to, I would suggest not. First of all, any filter is going to degrade quality to an extent, though the better the filter, the less this is an issue. The main thing that can happen is vignetting. When you start stacking filters, the edges of the filters are going to begin showing up in your photos. You will have dark edges in your photos, especially at any wide angle focal length. I can see where there might be a situation where you would want / need both the polarizer and and both, such as to cut glare but you want a shot depicting movement of water in bright daylight. But in that instance, take the UV filter OFF. There's NO need at all to have that on anytime you are using another filter.
