Best Quality HD Camcorder?

Anthony

Alright so, I need a some what movie quality HD Camcorder to shoot some music videos. I have been shooting them with my Nikon L110 which doesn't shoot the best HD Quality. Basically I'm on a low budget of about $300. I was looking into the Canon Vixia HF R100, but the reviews and footage iI saw from it was slightly jittery, and the picture was to bland for me. Maybe something that works well in low light? Thing is I don't know much about camcorder, so i have turned to you guys!

For $299, if you buy it TODAY this is a killer deal. It has 3 sensors and it's a Panasonic, which has the lead in this category. I have the SD60 (a lower model for which I paid $329) and its' absolutely fantastic:

Prices vary so get it before it goes back up to $399.

All low cost so called "HD" camcorders use the same H.264 standard for compression. Lens and other features will vary, look for the biggest diameter lens and the lowest f-stop number.

Normally, I'd suggest looking at one of the cheap MiniDv camcorders, but low-light is an issue with most of these.

The standard def MiniDv is a superior format to all low-cost HD cameras, and can be up-converted to the HD frame sizes with better quality than original HD footage!
