Best Digital Cameras out right now?

Jenny

I usually take pictures of myself with friends or with family.
This is what i want in a camera:
-Sleek/compact/light weight
-Takes non blurry pictures
-It can be touchscreen, doesn't matter
-some cool effects would be nice
-uses SD cards
-Under $200
-Etc.
Any brands are fine btw. I already have a Nikon s4000 and I don't really like it just so you know. I want a new camera that just came out this year. Please and thank you.

It has been a while since the Samsung Dual T220 has come out, but under 200 dollars, it certainly provides all of the criteria that you have mentioned. It has touchscreen. Retail prices are about 160 dollars.

Best digital Cameras out right now…
Nikon D3x. Has the highest rated digital sensor
closely behind (in a much more compact package, Leica M9)
For something even smaller, you'll really begin to lose out on quality…

(My rant aside, let me start another one - because none of the cameras mentioned above will be under 200 dollars)

blurry pictures are not determined by the camera. No matter what kind of camera you get, they all have the potential to create really beautiful images, or really blurry images. Even a cheapo 100 dollar camera can take better pictures than a 5000 dollar camera.
if the one you have still works, keep using it (unless you are using it more as a fasion accessory)

Tips to keep photos sharp (and not blurry)
- keep the camera steady
- mind the shutter speed. 1/30 seconds or less ought to produce unblurry pictures
- be mindful of how the people are moving. If they are running, it will probably come out blurry. (unless youhave a really fast shutter speed)
- Anything with a larger sensor, will be a great advantage.

Some practical suggestions now:
Out of all the current small cameras, there's two i recommend…
1. Canon s95. (it has the largest sensor in its class, and manages low light situtations really well)
2. Iphone 4 (it has some kind of reflective lens, where the camera lens is kind of like a cat's eye. It is really advantageous when there isn't much light. Plus you get a phone with the package.)

I personally prefer Canon PowerShot SD940IS 12.1MP Digital Camera which is really good.

*Crisp 2.7-inch PureColor System LCD with wide viewing angle
*Improved Smart AUTO intelligently selects from 22 predefined shooting situations
*Capture images to SD/SDHC memory cards
