Are all Nikon film cameras manual?
Just wondering
All SLR Nikon film cameras are. They made some other cameras that were fully automatic.
No, Nikon has made MANY types of film cameras over the decades and not all of them were manual.
Maybe you thought this was the case because Nikon is one of the few manufacturers that continued to offer fully manual 35mm cameras when everyone else was automating them. Canon, for example, has not offered a fully manual camera with no automation since something like the early 1980's or maybe earlier. Meanwhile you can still buy a brand new Nikon FM10 that is fully manual. They really just never stopped offering fully manual cameras, which is a big reason why I and many 35mm photographers choose Nikon.
If you are in search of a good fully manual Nikon camera, I'd suggest buying a Nikon FM or FM2n from KEH.com. If you want something really old and funky, a Nikkormat FTn or FT2 or Nikon F2 are really fun.
METAL AND MANUAL
FILM FOREVER
No.
Models like the EM (Aperture priority only), FE/FE2/FE2n - a replacement for the E-series Nikkormats - ( all aperture Priority/Manual) the FG (Aperture Priority/Manual/Programme), and FA (Multimode), all predate autofocus.
To this list should be added the Professional F3 (Aperture Priority/Manual) and F4 (Multimode with autofocus).
IIRC all AF 35mm SLRs were multimodes, but don't quote me on that, because I rather lost touch when AF came in.
Manual models are the F and F2 professional models, the F-series Nikkormats, and the FM/FM2/FM2n amateur models which replaced the latter.
