Hi, i'm 14 and looking for a good camera. My budget including a case and memory card is around $600.So the camera shouldn't be more than like $550. I know I'll need a pretty basic one based on my price. Preferably canon on nikon
I don't know the specific's of zoom. But at least 10X

For $600 your quest for an advanced P&S camera is too much. For under about $350, you can buy a 42x camera, notably a Nikon P510.

On the other hand, for just a little more, you can buy an amazing dSLR, with a sensor that is over 15 times larger than any P&S camera and that uses interchangeable lenses. At that point, you don't need to be concerned about the optical zoom range, because you just buy the focal length lens(es) you want.

My guess is that at your age, you have not really thought much about where you want to be in the next 10 years when it comes to your photography.

You can look here for good Bridge P&S cameras.

Are you looking for a DSLR then? Most point-and-shoots are in the $100-$300 price range. A good camera for your price range would be the Canon EOS T3.It's around $550, the kit lens is an 18-55mm, and it has 12.2 Megapixels. With DSLR's, there's no "zoom" like in point and shoot. Rather, the lens magnifies the image. This means that zoomed in, or zoomed out, you always have the same image quality. The good thing about a DSLR, is that you can always buy more lenses for them as needed.

Hope this helps!
