What Nikon camera lens is this? (Picture included)?
What lens is this?
After close examination of the picture and by knowing how to read numbers it looks to me a lot like a 55-200mm zoom. 55-70-85-105-135-200 really tipped me off.
Yes, it is a Nikon 55-200mm f/4.5~5.6. And it is the VR version (hint: Red "VR" printed on the lens).
Product Number: 2166
Yes, that is a Nikon 55-200mm zoom, but it is hard to tell if it is the VR version or not. Dows it have a switch on the side for VR? If so it has Nikon's VR Vibration Reduction technology built in. If not then it doesn't have image stabilisation.
EDIT - missed seeing the red VR! D'oh! So it does have image stabilisation.
That's not a very expensive lens, but it is pretty good for the money. You can usually pick them up new for about £130 but you do occasionally see them on offer for close to 100 quid in the UK. It is an AF-S lens so will auto-focus properly with all Nikon DSLRs.
Nikkor 55-200mm VR lens
Its the 55-200mm VR DX. Its a very common telephoto lens for entry level DSLR's. Its actually a good lens.
I had that lens when I first bought my Nikon D60 in 2008. Its a light weight, sharp lens. If you look at the name plate on the top of the lens you can just make out the name.
A big and dusty, used one.
