Video help for Nikon D5100?
Ok so I might sound stupid, but I really know nothing about film making, but I'm extreamly interested in learning. Do you have any tips on how I can get the best use of my Nikon D5100?
ALSO: How do people film from difrrent angles? If you look closely at some short films, they shoot from different angles, but when they edit it, it still sounds and looks smooth! How do I do that?
First, remove the word "film" from your vocabulary. You're shooting digital so the correct term is "video".
This video tutorial should help you with using your D5100:

I know nothing about Nikons, since I'm a Pentax user.
I've had 5 college photography classes, one of which was a "Photography and Moving Pictures" class (basically, digital video) And when you film, you just stand at different angles or point your camera at different angles. The editing is usually done in Final Cut Pro on a Mac or Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. I learned how to use the video part of my camera in class and learned how to use the software in class. But there's a website called Lynda.com where you can learn about video or you can go to Adobe's website and learn about the basics of Premiere Pro. Also, Vimeo is a great resource for learning about film.
