Dust spots on DSLR sensors are a fact of life. Most are easily removed using a low power hand air blower.

Ever notice the dust in the air when the light shines though the room? That same dust can settle into a dslr or slr if it's left open, facing upwards. Dust on the sensor can be a problem, but you have a couple of simple solutions.
1. Learn to change lenses quickly, with the camera body facing down. With practice, you can swap lenses in seconds.
2. Use the built-in dust sensor cleaning of your D7100. I have mine set to clean the sensor every time I power the camera on. You can also (via the menu) do a quick sensor cleaning before each shoot.
3. Finally, you can easily clean your own sensor by using the mirror lockup (see menu) and an inexpensive blower.

Hope that helps. (and you will LOVE your D7100)

Dust can hit the sensor any time there's dust in the air - whether you just took the camera out of the box and fitted a lens to it, or six months down the line.

Get yourself a rocket blower, and use that.

The camera might have been used and returned to supplier at some time. A new one should not have so much dust.
Complain to the supplier. Ask for an exchange.
Bear in mind though, that you should never leave a lens off a camera for a prolonged time; change lenses as quickly as possible and if there's not a lens attached, then use the Body Dust Cap.
