I would choose iphone5 because it has a camera on it and its a phone 2 in one
I use a $50 prepaid LG phone for voice and texts that takes OK photos. I use a Nikon S8200 with optical zoom for high quality photos. That means carrying 2 devices but no monthly mobile contract and cheap monthly fees.
So it depends on your priorities. Do you want photos to share, print, post online? High resolution for your desktop? Optical zoom or digital zoom? A 4G device, or basic phone/text service? Will you carry two devices if you get the Nikon? Can you live without a phone?
