Nikon d5300 DSLR issue?

I can only take one photo with my d5300 DSLR camera. Every time I try to take a second photo it won't work, so I have to turn it off and on again to take another photo. Anyone knows how to fix this issue?

Does the camera have a memory card installed? If none, get one. SDHC 8GB should be enough. Any brand will do. Buy from a reputable store. Too many fakes out there.

Memory card problem? Format the card then try again.

Nothing works? Try a new memory card. Format before shooting.
