Does changing lens of a camera affect its image quality?

Suppose i have a nikon slr camera without lens and if a buy any nikkor lens like 18-55mm will it work with the camera?

Yes obviously

A Nikon SLR won't be able to form an image without a lens, so yes you NEED a lens.

The 18-55mm is a good general purpose starter lens & will be good to get you going until you decide what extra lenses you'll need based on what genre you like to shoot.

Better lenses (fast primes for example) will give you better quality images (all other things being equal) than cheaper consumer zoom lenses.

The skill of the photograhper is the most important factor in image quality, then the lens, then lastly the camera body.
